PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE

2010-2011

Resident Studio Artist, Root Division, San Francisco, CA
Taught digital photography and night photography classes. Helped install and deinstall 2D, 3D and video based art works at the Root Division gallery. Welcomed gallery visitors and informed guests about Root Division's community based art programs. Helped coordinate and run fundraising events and assisted with administrative tasks such as filling and database maintenance.

2008-2009 Adjunct Professor, Richard Stockton College, Pomona, NJ
Taught two sections of introductory black and white photography courses. Created my own
curriculum that focused on helping students achieve technical proficiency of camera functions and
traditional black and white darkroom techniques. Through critiques and lectures introduced and
reinforced a firm knowledge of visual design, the development of a personal style, and the methods
of communicating ideas visually. Studio classes and technical demonstrations of both traditional and
alternative photographic processes were supplemented with lectures on relevant themes in the history
of photography as well as contemporary practice.
2006-2008

Adjunct Professor, Virginia Commonwealth, Richmond, VA
Taught an introductory photography course that dealt primarily with the traditional black and white
medium and the early history of photography. Also taught an advanced studio course that focused on
developing students' professional portfolios. Supplemented the courses with lectures on history of
photography and essays on contemporary photographic practice.

Preformed general office duties: answering phones and emails, scheduling, filling, database
maintenance, equipment check out, and the maintenance of departmental facilities.

2004-2006 Photography Teacher, Germantown Friends School, Philadelphia, PA.
Taught four introductory photography classes to 10th, 11th, and 12th graders. Created an age
appropriate curriculum that developed student's technical knowledge and proficiency of both
traditional and digital photographic mediums. Structured assignments/projects through which
students could discover and use the photographic visual vocabulary in an engaging way. Encouraged
the development of personal style and expression of concepts through examples of other
photographers' works and focused group critiques.

mediums. Facilitated the development of students’ technical skills, participated in class critiques and
prepared lectures. Maintained the photography black and white and digital labs, checked out
equipment, ordered supplies and materials.
Installation and Administrative Assistant, Samek Art Gallery, Bucknell University
Assisted artists with site-specific installations in the project room of the Samek Gallery. Assisted in
packing, shipping and hanging of art works. Conducted an ongoing inventory of the 9000 object
collection, recorded new works into the gallery database and maintained the Samek Art Galle
website.
